Clifton, VA Crawl Space Repair
Challenge
A homeowner in Clifton, Virginia began noticing uneven temperatures and higher energy bills. When their HVAC technician inspected the system, they found condensation forming on ductwork and rust developing on metal components located in the crawl space. The crawl space itself was damp, with exposed soil and humid air creating constant moisture buildup.
Left untreated, this moisture would continue to corrode HVAC components, shorten equipment life, and increase energy costs. The homeowner wanted a long-term solution to protect both their crawl space and their mechanical systems.
Solution
Fortress Foundation Solutions installed the CleanSpace® Vapor Barrier System to fully seal the crawl space floor and walls, preventing moisture from evaporating into the air. With the ground sealed, the main source of humidity was eliminated.
We then installed the SaniDry™ Sedona, which continuously dehumidifies the crawl space and filters airborne particles. This ensured that condensation would no longer form on HVAC components and that air moving through the system would be dry and clean.
After installation, rust formation stopped, HVAC performance improved, and the homeowner gained peace of mind knowing their equipment was protected from moisture damage.
