Inward Wall Movement Due to Poor Drainage Conditions (Esmont, VA)
Challenge
A homeowner in Esmont, Virginia reached out to Fortress Foundation Solutions after noticing concerning changes in their basement foundation walls. Long horizontal cracks had formed, and one wall in particular had begun to lean inward. The homeowner also observed small gaps forming where the wall met the basement ceiling, as well as uneven door frames on the main level of the home.

Solution
Fortress Foundation Solutions installed the PowerBrace™ Wall Repair System to reinforce and stabilize the affected foundation wall. Steel PowerBrace beams were installed vertically along the wall and anchored to the basement floor and overhead framing. This created a strong, permanent support structure that counteracts inward soil pressure.
The installation was completed entirely from inside the basement, eliminating the need for excavation. Once installed, the PowerBrace system immediately stopped wall movement and restored structural stability.
