Foundation Repair in Thurmont, Maryland
Challenge
A homeowner in Thurmont contacted Fortress Foundation Solutions after noticing stair-step cracking along an interior basement wall and separation around door frames on the main level. Over time, doors became difficult to close properly, and minor floor sloping was evident in one corner of the home. The homeowner was concerned that the foundation was settling and wanted a long-term solution.

Solution
Fortress Foundation Solutions recommended installing Push Piers from the interior of the basement. Our team carefully removed sections of the basement slab along the affected wall to access the foundation footing. Heavy-duty steel pier brackets were secured to the footing, and engineered steel piers were hydraulically driven deep into stable load-bearing strata beneath the home.
Once competent soil was reached, the piers were synchronized to gently lift and stabilize the settled section of the foundation. In this case, measurable lift was achieved, helping to reduce visible cracking and improve door alignment.
After stabilization, the interior slab was restored, leaving a clean and minimally invasive finish. The homeowner in Thurmont gained peace of mind knowing their foundation was permanently stabilized without exterior disruption.
