Basement Waterproofing in Lexington, Virginia
Challenge
A homeowner in Lexington reached out to Fortress Foundation Solutions after discovering damp walls and occasional water seepage in their unfinished basement. Following periods of prolonged rain, moisture would appear along the foundation walls and spread across portions of the concrete floor.
The homeowner was concerned that continued moisture exposure could damage stored items and eventually lead to mold growth. Our inspection revealed that groundwater pressure around the foundation was forcing water through minor cracks and the wall-floor joint. Without a proper drainage system, the basement remained vulnerable to recurring water intrusion.
The homeowner wanted a permanent waterproofing solution that would keep the basement dry year-round and prevent future damage.
Solution
Fortress Foundation Solutions designed a customized waterproofing system tailored to the home’s needs. Our team installed the WaterGuard® interior drainage system along the perimeter of the basement to intercept groundwater seepage before it could enter the living space.
The drainage system was connected to a TripleSafe™ sump pump, which safely pumps collected water away from the foundation. To help regulate humidity and improve the overall basement environment, a SaniDry™ Sedona Dehumidifier was installed.
Once the system was fully operational, the basement in Lexington remained dry and protected even during heavy rainfall. The homeowner appreciated the reliable waterproofing solution and the improved conditions in the basement.
