A homeowner in Orange, Monica, contacted Fortress Foundation Solutions after experiencing ongoing moisture problems beneath her home. She reported a strong musty smell, increased indoor humidity, and cold floors during the winter months. The issue seemed to worsen after heavy rain, raising concerns about potential damage.
During our evaluation, we found exposed dirt floors, high humidity levels, and insulation that had begun to deteriorate due to moisture exposure. Ground vapor was entering the crawl space without restriction, creating a damp environment that could lead to mold growth and structural issues over time.
Solution
Fortress Foundation Solutions recommended a comprehensive crawl space encapsulation system. Our team installed the CleanSpace® Vapor Barrier across the crawl space floor and extended it up the walls to block moisture from entering the space.
To enhance insulation and energy efficiency, SilverGlo™ panels were installed along the crawl space walls. An UltraSump® sump pump system was added to address any water intrusion, and a SaniDry™ Sedona Dehumidifier was installed to regulate humidity levels.
