Crawl Space Encapsulation in Bassett, Virginia
Challenge
Andrew in Bassett, Virginia didn’t think much about his crawl space—until the signs inside his home started adding up.
It started with a faint musty smell that seemed to linger no matter how much he aired out the house. Then came the colder floors, especially in the mornings, and a general feeling that the air inside was more humid than it should be.
After a stretch of rainy weather made everything worse, Andrew decided it was time to figure out what was going on.
When Fortress Foundation Solutions inspected the crawl space, the issue was clear. The space had exposed dirt floors, no effective vapor barrier, and elevated humidity levels. Moisture from the ground was freely entering the crawl space and affecting everything above it.
Solution
Our team installed the CleanSpace® Vapor Barrier across the entire floor and up the walls, sealing out ground moisture. To improve insulation and help regulate temperatures, we added SilverGlo™ wall panels. We also installed a SaniDry™ Sedona Dehumidifier to keep humidity levels in check and maintain a dry, healthy space year-round.
