Crawl space / Basement repair in Middlebrook, VA
Challenge
For years, this Middlebrook, VA homeowner struggled with persistent water intrusion in their basement. After seeing the successful results Fortress Foundation Solutions delivered for a neighbor, they decided it was time to solve the problem once and for all. During the inspection, it became clear that both the basement and the connected crawl space were allowing moisture into the home, creating conditions that could lead to mold, high humidity, and poor indoor air quality.
Solution
Our System Designer, Bill, created a comprehensive waterproofing and crawl space encapsulation plan tailored to the home. In the basement, our crew installed the WaterGuard® interior drainage system and connected it to a SuperSump Plus™ to efficiently collect and discharge water. In the crawl space, the team removed old insulation and debris, sealed the stacked stone walls with spray foam, installed SilverGlo™ wall insulation, drainage matting, and the CleanSpace® vapor barrier. To complete the system, two SaniDry Sedona dehumidifiers and a crawl space sump pump were installed to control moisture and protect the home year-round.
