Failing wall repair in Sterling, VA
Challenge
While remodeling his basement, Sterling, VA homeowner Joe removed the finished walls and uncovered significant cracks in his foundation wall. After a professional inspection, we found the wall had bowed inward more than two inches due to outside soil pressure. Before continuing the remodel, the structural issue needed to be addressed to prevent further movement and damage.
Solution
Our System Designer recommended two permanent repair options: PowerBrace™ steel beams or the GeoLock® Wall Anchor System. Joe chose the GeoLock® Wall Anchors because they take up less interior space while also offering the ability to gradually pull the wall back toward its original position. Our crew installed the anchors, permanently stabilizing the foundation and giving Joe the confidence to safely continue his basement renovation.
