Bowing Wall Repair in Union Bridge, Maryland
Challenge
Scott in Union Bridge, Maryland had started noticing some movement in one of his basement walls. It wasn't a major problem yet, but the early signs of bowing were enough to make him want to get ahead of it before the wall had a chance to move any further.
After taking a look at the basement, we found that the wall was beginning to bow inward from pressure outside the home. Since the movement was still relatively minor, it was a good opportunity to address the problem before a more involved repair was needed.
Solution
Our crew installed 22 CarbonArmor® Wall Support Straps along the affected section of the wall. The carbon fiber straps bond directly to the foundation and add strength without taking up much space in the basement. They're a great fit for situations like Scott's where the wall is showing early movement but hasn't reached the point of needing a larger stabilization system.
