Challenge
David R. of Gordonsville, VA had a crawl space with a very small door, a drop immediately after entering and sloping sides - a tight and hard-to-access area. It was difficult for anyone to get under the home to fix plumbing and electrical issues and unusable for storage. David called Fortress Foundation Solutions.
Solution
System Designer, Chris Wilmouth, met with David to inspect the crawl space and let him know how Fortress could help. Chris proposed some dig out of the higher areas and then a complete encapsulation with a dehumidification system. These photos show the process of transforming this space. Now there's a bigger door to seal the space, CleanSpace vapor barrier keeping the moisture from the ground contained, and a SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier to keep the area dry. Now David can access the space easily for home repairs and improvements and he has added storage!
