Crawl Space Encapsulation in Maurertown, Virginia
Challenge
A historic home in Maurertown, Virginia had a crawl space with dangerously high humidity levels that threatened original wood framing. The homeowners were concerned about preserving the integrity of the structure while addressing the moisture issue without invasive alterations that could compromise the home’s character.
Solution
Our team designed a moisture control solution that respected the historic nature of the home. The crawl space was encapsulated using the CleanSpace® Vapor Barrier, carefully installed to avoid disturbing original materials. This sealed the space from ground moisture and outdoor humidity.
To maintain proper conditions year-round, the SaniDry™ Sedona was installed to regulate humidity and improve air quality. As a result, the crawl space became dry and stable, protecting the home’s historic framing while providing modern moisture control. The homeowners were relieved to have a solution that preserved their home’s past while safeguarding its future.
