Crawl Space Repair in Locust Grove, Virginia
Challenge
A homeowner in Locust Grove reached out to Fortress Foundation Solutions after experiencing persistent humidity and a musty smell inside their home. The issue became more noticeable after rainstorms, and the homeowner discovered damp insulation hanging beneath the floor joists.
Our inspection revealed that the crawl space had exposed soil and no effective moisture barrier. Ground vapor was rising into the space, creating high humidity levels and damp conditions beneath the home. Over time, the moisture had begun affecting the insulation and wooden structural components, increasing the risk of mold growth and long-term damage.
Solution
Fortress Foundation Solutions recommended installing a crawl space encapsulation system to address the moisture issues. The CleanSpace® Vapor Barrier was installed across the crawl space floor and along the foundation walls, sealing the space from ground moisture and outside humidity.
To ensure the environment remained dry, a SaniDry™ Sedona Dehumidifier was installed to continuously remove excess moisture and regulate humidity levels.
After the installation was completed, the crawl space in Locust Grove became dry and stable. The homeowner reported improved indoor air quality and greater confidence that their home was protected from moisture-related damage.
