A homeowner in Moneta, Rob, contacted Fortress Foundation Solutions after noticing a persistent musty odor and elevated humidity levels throughout his home. He also mentioned that his floors felt damp and uncomfortable, especially during warmer months. After checking his crawl space, Rob found exposed soil and signs of moisture buildup, prompting him to seek professional help.
During our inspection, we confirmed that the crawl space lacked a proper vapor barrier, allowing ground moisture to enter freely. The elevated humidity had begun to affect insulation and wooden structural components, increasing the risk of mold growth and long-term damage.
Solution
Fortress Foundation Solutions recommended a full crawl space encapsulation system to address the moisture issues. Our team installed the CleanSpace® Vapor Barrier across the crawl space floor and up the foundation walls to create a continuous moisture seal.
To improve energy efficiency, we installed SilverGlo™ insulation panels along the crawl space walls. We also installed an UltraSump® sump pump system to manage any water intrusion and a SaniDry™ Sedona Dehumidifier to maintain proper humidity levels year-round.
After installation, Rob’s crawl space in Moneta was dry, clean, and fully protected. He noticed improved air quality and greater comfort throughout his home, along with peace of mind knowing the problem was permanently resolved.
