Encapsulating Ridgeway, Virginia Crawl Space
Challenge
Mr. Tuggle in Ridgeway, Virginia had grown used to the musty smell in his home—but that didn’t mean he liked it. Over time, it seemed to get worse, especially after rain, and he started noticing his floors felt colder and slightly damp in certain areas.
Eventually, curiosity got the better of him, and he took a look into the crawl space. What he found confirmed his suspicions—exposed dirt, sagging insulation, and a noticeable amount of moisture.
When we came out to inspect, we saw exactly what was causing the problem. Ground moisture was freely entering the crawl space, raising humidity levels and creating the perfect environment for mold and long-term structural issues.
Solution
We recommended a full crawl space encapsulation to take control of the environment beneath the home.
Our team installed the CleanSpace® Vapor Barrier across the floor and up the walls, sealing off the crawl space from ground moisture. To improve energy efficiency and further protect the space, we added SilverGlo™ insulation panels along the walls.
We also installed a SaniDry™ Sedona Dehumidifier to keep humidity levels in check year-round.
