Crawl Space Encapsulation in Concord, Virginia
Challenge
Josh in Concord had been dealing with a musty smell in his home that just wouldn’t go away. No matter how much he cleaned or aired things out, the odor kept coming back—especially after it
rained.
He also started noticing that the air inside felt heavier and more humid than it should. It wasn’t overwhelming at first, but over time, it became clear something wasn’t right.
When we inspected the crawl space, the source of the problem was easy to spot. There was exposed soil, no vapor barrier, and elevated humidity levels throughout the space. Moisture from the ground was rising into the crawl space and affecting the air inside the home.
Solution
To fix the issue, we installed a full crawl space encapsulation system designed to control moisture at the source.
Our team installed the CleanSpace® Vapor Barrier across the crawl space floor and up the walls, sealing out ground moisture. To improve insulation and help regulate temperatures, we added SilverGlo™ wall panels.
We also installed a SaniDry™ Sedona Dehumidifier to keep humidity levels under control and maintain a dry environment year-round.
After the work was completed, Josh noticed the difference almost immediately. The musty smell was gone, the air felt cleaner, and his home was noticeably more comfortable.
