Waynesboro, Virginia Crawl Space Encapsulation
Challenge
A homeowner in Waynesboro had been noticing a mix of issues that slowly became harder to ignore. Certain areas of the floor felt uneven and slightly bouncy, and there was a musty smell that seemed to linger inside the home.
When we took a look underneath the home, the problem became clear. The crawl space had exposed ground, elevated humidity levels, and no proper moisture barrier. Over time, that environment had started to impact the structural supports, leading to the sagging floors above.
Solution
We put together a system to address both the moisture and structural concerns.
First, we encapsulated the crawl space using the CleanSpace® Vapor Barrier to seal out ground moisture. We installed SilverGlo™ insulation along the walls to improve energy efficiency and help regulate temperature.
To control humidity, we added a SaniDry™ Sedona dehumidifier to keep the space dry year-round.
Finally, we installed SmartJacks® beneath the affected areas to stabilize the floors back to a more level position.
