Crawl Space Encapsulation in Vienna, Virginia
Challenge
For Megan and Cliff in Vienna, Virginia, the crawl space wasn’t something they thought about—until it started affecting their home.
They noticed a persistent damp smell and a general feeling of humidity that didn’t seem to go away. After heavy rains, the air felt even heavier, and it became clear something below the home wasn’t right.
During our inspection, we found moisture buildup, poor drainage, and exposed ground allowing humidity to rise into the space. Without a system to manage water, the crawl space was staying damp and impacting the air inside the home.
Solution
We designed a system to both manage water and seal the space.
First, we installed EZ Flow drainage to direct water away from the crawl space, along with a SuperSump® sump pump to actively remove any water that entered. Then we encapsulated the space with the CleanSpace® Vapor Barrier to lock out ground moisture.
To keep conditions stable long-term, we added a SaniDry™ Sedona dehumidifier to control humidity year-round.
With everything in place, the crawl space is now dry and controlled—and Megan and Cliff immediately noticed the difference in how their home feels. What was once a damp, neglected space is now fully protected with a system built to last.
