No crawl space is too big or too small for Fortress Foundation Solutions
Challenge
In Warrenton, Virginia, local homeowner Neva was experiencing a horrible draft coming from below her dining room and living room areas. Her house would freeze in the winter and feel moist and hot in the summer.
Her biggest issue - aside from the rising energy bills - was that her crawl space was too tight for anyone to squeeze into and properly evaluate. She had called other companies before finally calling the right one: Fortress.
We sent out system designer Cara, who performed a full comprehensive evaluation of the home. Neva agreed to the terms, and our team got to work.
Solution
Mike and his crew were the team assigned to the job. They met with Neva and re-explained the game plan. They had to remove the floorboards and work from the top down - not super unusual, but definitely not something we do every day.
The team carefully removed the carpet, floorboards, and hanging insulation before cleaning out any debris in the space and getting to work. Luckily, there were no signs of water intrusion or groundwater seepage, so they were able to begin by laying down our drainage matting, followed by our CleanSpace vapor barrier.
They then lined the walls with our SilverGlo insulation and were able to throw away all of the old batted insulation that had just been sitting there collecting moisture and debris. To finish the job off, they installed a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier.
Now, Neva never has to worry about outside conditions affecting her home, peace of mind, or energy bills again.
