Floor Stabilization Project in Salem, Virginia
Challenge
David in Salem, Virginia started noticing uneven floors and signs that parts of his home weren’t being properly supported anymore. Certain areas felt soft and unstable underfoot, and the issues only seemed to be getting worse over time.
After inspecting the crawl space, we found that the main support beam had deteriorated and sections of the floor system were no longer adequately supported. Moisture beneath the home had also created unhealthy crawl space conditions.
Solution
Scott and his crew put installed a several solutions to restore both the structural support and the crawl space environment.
The failing main beam was replaced to provide proper support where it was needed most, and 2 SmartJack® supports were installed beneath key areas of the home to stabilize the floor system.
To address the moisture concerns, the crawl space was sealed with the CleanSpace® Vapor Barrier to help create a cleaner, drier environment moving forward.
By the time the project was complete, the crawl space was healthier and the floors above felt much more solid and secure. David now has confidence knowing the structure beneath his home is properly supported for the long term.
