Crawl Space Encapsulation in Forest, Virginia
Challenge
Mike in Forest, Virginia had started noticing several issues around his home that all seemed to trace back to the crawl space. Certain areas of the floor felt uneven, and the space beneath the home was holding excess moisture and humidity.
Over time, the combination of structural concerns and damp conditions made it clear the crawl space needed a long-term solution.
Solution
Scott and his crew installed a system to address both the moisture problems and the weakened floor support at the same time.
To stabilize the sagging floor system, we installed SmartJack® supports beneath key areas of the home. The crawl space was then sealed with the CleanSpace® Vapor Barrier to help block out ground moisture and create a cleaner environment beneath the house.
SilverGlo™ insulation was added along the walls to improve energy efficiency and help regulate temperatures, and a SaniDry™ Sedona dehumidifier was installed to control humidity year-round.
By the time the project was complete, the crawl space was dry, insulated, and properly supported. Mike now has stronger floors, healthier air beneath the home, and long-term protection against future moisture issues.
