Crawl Space Wood Working Project in Howardsville, Virginia
Challenge
Andrew in Howardsville, Virginia knew something was wrong when parts of the floor started feeling soft and uneven underfoot. Over time, the problem became more noticeable, and it was clear the crawl space underneath the home needed serious attention.
When our System Designer inspected the crawl space, they found the main support beam had weakened and several floor joists were in rough shape. Moisture under the home had also taken a toll on the area, creating unhealthy conditions and contributing to the structural problems.
Solution
To get the home properly supported again, the crew replaced the failing main beam and reinforced the floor system with joist sistering and joist replacements where needed.
After the structural repairs were finished, they encapsulated the crawl space with the CleanSpace® Vapor Barrier to help seal out moisture and keep the area dry moving forward.
