Rotted floor repair in Roseland, VA
Challenge
After purchasing their home in Roseland, VA, the homeowners wanted peace of mind before continuing renovations. During our free inspection, our System Designer, Sumner, discovered several major concerns, including failing floor joists, a rotted main beam, excessive humidity, insulation scattered throughout the crawl space, gaps allowing outside air to enter, and widespread wood deterioration.
Solution
Fortress installed a new main beam, replaced the damaged sill plate, sistered failing floor joists, installed a supplemental support beam with SmartJacks®, removed wet insulation, treated the space with MoldX, encapsulated the crawl space with a CleanSpace® vapor barrier, installed SilverGlo™ wall insulation, and added a SaniDry™ Sedona dehumidifier to permanently control moisture.
