Crawl Space Restoration in Waynesboro, Virginia
Challenge
Erin in Waynesboro, Virginia reached out to Fortress Foundation Solutions after noticing her floors were beginning to sag in several areas of the home. A closer look at the crawl space revealed the root of the problem—years of high humidity had weakened portions of the floor system, leaving the home with inadequate support beneath it.
Erin wanted a solution that would both strengthen the structure and eliminate the moisture causing the damage.
Solution
Nate and his crew restored the crawl space with a combination of structural repairs and moisture control.
To stabilize the floor system, the team installed 7 SmartJack® supports along with a steel supplemental beam to provide permanent support beneath the sagging floors.
Once the structural work was complete, the crawl space was fully encapsulated with the CleanSpace® Vapor Barrier to seal out ground moisture. A SaniDry™ Sedona dehumidifier was added to control humidity year-round, and a new EverLast™ Crawl Space Door completed the system by helping keep outside moisture and air from entering the space.
By the end of the project, Erin's crawl space was clean, dry, and properly protected, while the floors above were noticeably stronger and more stable. She now has peace of mind knowing both the structural and moisture issues beneath her home have been permanently addressed.
