Crawl Space Encapsulation and Bowing Wall Repair in Lynchburg, Virginia
Challenge
Theresa in Lynchburg, Virginia was dealing with two separate issues around her home. Her crawl space was holding excess humidity, creating concerns about moisture and air quality, while an exterior staircase had begun to crack and bow inward due to pressure against the retaining wall.
Solution
Toby and his crew began by transforming the crawl space with a complete encapsulation system. The team installed the CleanSpace® Vapor Barrier to seal out ground moisture, SilverGlo™ insulation to improve energy efficiency, and a SaniDry™ Sedona dehumidifier to control humidity and maintain a dry, healthy environment beneath the home.
Once the crawl space was complete, the crew turned their attention to the failing staircase wall. To stabilize the wall and prevent further movement, they installed 3 GeoLock® Wall Anchors. These anchors extend into stable soil beyond the wall, providing long-term support and helping resist the pressure that caused the wall to bow.
