Inwood, WV crawl space repair
Challenge
Inwood, West Virginia homeowner Brian reached out to Fortress after noticing bouncy floors, significant sagging, gaps between the wall and floor joints, and a musty smell throughout his living areas. During Riley's comprehensive inspection, he discovered foundation vents, standing water, exposed earth, homemade wooden shims, and organic growth on the floor joists. These conditions were contributing to excess moisture and weakening the home's structural support.
Solution
With years of crawl space expertise, Riley designed a permanent solution to address both the structural and moisture issues. The recommended system included 3 SmartJacks, 14 feet of supplemental beam, 318 feet of EZ Flow drainage pipe, 2,421 square feet of CleanSpace vapor barrier, 2 SaniDry Sedona dehumidifiers, an UltraSump battery backup system, a SuperSump pump system, and 294 feet of SilverGlo insulation. Together, these systems stabilized the floors, controlled groundwater and humidity, insulated the crawl space, and created a clean, dry, healthy environment that will protect the home for years to come.
