Sarah B. was concerned for her barn. There were large visible cracks going down the rear cinder blocks and the wall appeared to be bowing into the interior of the barn. This structure was very important to her and she did not want to loose the building. Sarah made a call to Fortress sharing her concerns. Skylar was sent out to her home to look at the structure and assess what could be done. The bowing barn wall was due to the outside fill dirt freezing and thawing over time. Skylar determined that to secure this wall and the barn structure nine PowerBrace piers would need to be installed. These piers are specifically engineered and installed to prevent any further movement and can over time slowly straighten the wall they are supporting. Sarah B. was so relieved to know there was a solution for her barn. Now that the PowerBrace piers are installed she no longer has to worry about her barn falling in.
This crawl space had multiple issues that needed to be addressed. First, it was dirty and had a musty odor that was making its way into the home. Second, it was having moisture issues that were causing a decrease in the air quality inside of the home. Lastly, this crawl space was not properly supported, causing the floor in the home to sag. All of these issues were addressed by our System Designer here at Fortress. They began by cleaning out the crawl space and lining the entire crawl space with our Clean Space vapor barrier . Next, they installed our SaniDry dehumidifier. Lastly, they addressed the structural problems by installing a support beam and our smart jack system. This crawl space is now clean, moisture-free, and well supported for years to come.
