Moisture and Structural Issues In A Charlottesville Crawl Space

Challenge

This crawl space in Charlottesville had two major issues that the homeowner contacted Fortress to fix. The first challenge dealt with the moisture and water problems in the space. Any water that was entering the crawl space was not exiting it properly, causing the air to become damp. The second problem in the space was sagging floors. The wood beams above the crawl space were extremely damp and over time had weakened and were unable to support up the floor above properly.

Solution

Our system designer, Chris Guill, came out to provide a free estimate. Cleanspace vapor barrier was installed, encapsulating the crawlspace, separating the home's floor supports from the damp earth. A Sanidry Sedona was then added to keep the crawlspace dry!
