Concrete Repair in Falls Church, Virginia
Challenge
A homeowner in Falls Church reached out after noticing uneven concrete along their driveway apron and garage entrance. The slab had settled enough to create a visible gap and a slope that allowed rainwater to flow toward the garage instead of away from it. Over time, this issue raised concerns about drainage and potential water intrusion.
Our evaluation determined that soil compaction and washout beneath the slab were the primary causes of settlement. Although the concrete surface remained structurally sound, voids underneath had reduced support. The homeowner wanted a long-lasting repair that would correct the drainage issue and restore the slab’s alignment.
Solution
Fortress Foundation Solutions performed polyurethane foam injection to lift and stabilize the affected concrete. After drilling small injection points, expanding foam was delivered beneath the slab.
The foam filled empty spaces and strengthened the soil below while precisely raising the concrete back to its intended elevation. Once cured, the foam provided durable, water-resistant support.
Upon completion, the driveway apron and garage entrance were properly leveled, improving drainage and eliminating the hazard. The homeowner appreciated the quick turnaround and minimal disruption.
