Crawl Space Repair in Frederick, Maryland
Challenge
A homeowner in Frederick contacted Fortress Foundation Solutions after noticing uneven sections along their backyard patio. Several slabs had sunk at different angles, creating an unstable surface and causing furniture to wobble. Water collected in low areas after rainfall, contributing to surface wear and safety concerns.
During inspection, we identified soil settlement and erosion beneath the patio as the root cause. The voids beneath the concrete had allowed sections to sink unevenly. While replacement was considered, the homeowner preferred a faster, less invasive solution.
Solution
Our team recommended polyurethane concrete lifting to restore the patio surface. Small injection holes were drilled into the slabs, and high-density foam was injected beneath the concrete.
As the foam expanded, it filled voids, stabilized the soil, and gently raised the slabs back into alignment. The process was precise and controlled, ensuring a smooth, level finish. The foam cured rapidly, allowing the patio to be used the same day.
The homeowner was pleased with the restored appearance and stability of their Frederick patio.
