Concrete Repair in Radford, Virginia
Challenge
A homeowner in Radford reached out to Fortress Foundation Solutions after observing uneven slabs along their back patio and sidewalk. Several sections had shifted independently, creating gaps between slabs and allowing water to pool in low areas. The instability made outdoor entertaining difficult and raised concerns about potential injuries.
Our inspection revealed that soil washout and natural settling had caused uneven support beneath the concrete. Seasonal rainfall had gradually eroded portions of the underlying soil, resulting in void formation. While the slabs themselves were structurally sound, the lack of proper support caused noticeable misalignment. The homeowner wanted a reliable solution that would restore stability and improve drainage.
Solution
We performed polyurethane concrete lifting to correct the issue. After drilling small injection points, expanding foam was precisely placed beneath the affected slabs.
The foam expanded to fill voids and gently lift the concrete back into alignment. The process was carefully monitored to achieve a smooth, level surface. Once cured, the foam provided durable support resistant to moisture infiltration and future settlement.
The patio and sidewalk in Radford were fully restored, offering a safe and attractive outdoor space once again.
