Concrete Leveling in Cave Spring, Virginia
Challenge
This homeowner in Cave Spring contacted Fortress Foundation Solutions after noticing uneven concrete along their front walkway and driveway. Over time, sections of the concrete had settled, creating noticeable dips and uneven transitions that posed a tripping hazard for family members and guests.
The homeowner also mentioned that water would pool in the low areas after rain, further contributing to erosion beneath the slab. Concerned about safety and potential damage, they wanted a solution that would restore the concrete without the need for full replacement.
During our inspection, we determined that the soil beneath the concrete had shifted and compacted over time, causing the slabs to settle unevenly. Without proper support, the issue would likely continue to worsen.
Solution
Fortress Foundation Solutions recommended our concrete lifting and leveling solution PolyLevel. Small, strategically placed holes were drilled into the affected slabs, allowing our team to inject high-density foam beneath the concrete.
As the foam expanded, it filled voids in the soil and gently lifted the slabs back to their original position. This process also stabilized the soil to prevent future settlement.
The repair was completed quickly with minimal disruption, and the concrete was ready for use shortly after installation. Once complete, the walkway and driveway in Cave Spring were level, stable, and free of tripping hazards. The homeowner appreciated the cost-effective solution and the immediate improvement in safety and appearance.
