Sinking driveway slab in Lynchburg, VA
Challenge
Mike, a homeowner in Lynchburg, Virginia, noticed significant cracking in the concrete surrounding his home. His concern grew when the slabs began sinking and separating, creating uneven surfaces and a tripping hazard. During the evaluation, our skilled System Designer discovered a significant void beneath the slab, along with soft soil that could no longer adequately support the concrete. Without a stable foundation underneath, the slab had begun to settle, leading to the cracking and sinking Mike had noticed.
Solution
Troy, our foreman on the job, repaired the issue by first drilling dime-sized holes through the slab for the PolyLevel® foam installation. He used 28 pounds of expanding foam to compact the soil beneath the slab, fill the void, and lift the concrete back to level. He then sealed the cracks with NexusPro® to help prevent water intrusion and further soil washout. With the repairs backed by a five-year warranty, Mike can enjoy greater peace of mind for years to come.
