A homeowner on Wycliffe St. in Bedford, VA, called Fortress Foundation Solutions after moisture issues in his crawl space. Efflorescence had built up on the walls from years of moisture seeping through the block. Our System Designer Brandon Conner, inspected his crawl space and provided a free estimate for an encapsulation. Soon foreman Travis Farmer and his crew were onsite installing drainage matting, and CleanSpace vapor barrier. The CleanSpace keeps out moisture protecting the wood joists keeping the space dry!

This homeowner, Robert, called us for repairs tied to his sagging floors in his home in Red Oak, Virginia. We installed 3 SmartJacks with a steel Supplemental Beam to support the section of floor that had become weakened by high humidity in his crawl space. Travis and Jack completed this job in just one day, leaving Roberts home better protected.

Scott was noticing signs of foundation settlement at his Bedford home, including cracks along the exterior of the structure. Concerned about the stability of his foundation and the potential for further movement, he contacted Fortress Foundation Solutions for an inspection. After evaluating the home, we recommended our Helical Pier System to permanently stabilize the foundation and help prevent future settlement. 

Warren and Shannon were noticing soft spots, bouncing floors, and uneven areas throughout their Bedford home. These symptoms indicated that the floor system needed additional support to prevent further sagging and structural issues.

To restore stability, our team installed the SmartJack® Floor Stabilization System in the crawl space beneath the home. These adjustable supports provide a strong foundation for the floor joists, helping stop further sagging and, in some cases, lifting floors closer to their original position. As shown in the after photos, the floor system is now properly supported, creating a stronger and more stable home.

Fortress Foundation Solutions received a call from this homeowner due to issues concerning her basement. She explained that her basement was damp and musty because of the moist environment; she also had efflorescence on the floor and walls of the basement. The mustiness and dampness of this space was due to unwanted water and high humidity levels in the basement. The root of the moisture problem was tracked to the basement’s malfunctioning sump pump. Fortress was happy to help this homeowner address all of her basement waterproofing problems. The sump pump was replaced with a SuperSump. A gravity exit was also installed to aid in the removal of the unwanted water. Other drainage systems were also installed: the WaterGuard Port. This helped with the water problems that this basement was experiencing. On the outside of the home, IceGuard and Lawnscape were installed, along with a pump discharge and pipeoff. All of these solutions work to help rid this basement of its musty and damp atmosphere.
