Basement Waterproofing in Cascade, MD
Challenge
A homeowner in Cascade contacted Fortress Foundation Solutions after dealing with ongoing basement moisture problems that made the space uncomfortable and difficult to use. During periods of heavy rainfall, water seeped in where the basement walls met the floor, leaving damp concrete surfaces and creating persistent musty odors. Over time, stored belongings became damaged, and the homeowner began to worry about mold growth and indoor air quality.
The home was located on a property where surface water collected near the foundation during storms. Poor drainage allowed water to build up around the basement walls, increasing hydrostatic pressure and forcing moisture through small cracks and porous concrete. The homeowner wanted a permanent solution that would keep the basement dry year-round and protect the home from moisture-related damage.
Solution
Fortress Foundation Solutions installed a complete basement waterproofing system tailored to the home’s needs. A WaterGuard® sub-floor perimeter drainage system was installed beneath the basement floor to capture wall and floor seepage before it entered the living space. Collected water was directed into a TripleSafe™ sump pump system, providing reliable water removal even during heavy rain and power outages.
To further protect the basement environment, a SaniDry™ Sedona dehumidifier was installed to control humidity levels, eliminate musty odors, and prevent mold growth. After installation, the basement remained dry, clean, and usable, giving the homeowner confidence that their home was protected.
