Basement Waterproofing in Clear Spring, Maryland
Challenge
A homeowner in Clear Spring contacted Fortress Foundation Solutions after experiencing repeated basement water intrusion during heavy rainstorms. Water consistently entered along the base of the foundation walls, leaving wet concrete floors and damaging stored belongings. Over time, musty odors developed, and the homeowner became concerned about mold growth and declining indoor air quality.
The home was situated on a property where surface water collected near the foundation after storms. Saturated soil increased hydrostatic pressure against the basement walls, forcing moisture through small cracks and porous concrete. Because the basement was used for storage and mechanical equipment, the homeowner worried that continued water intrusion could lead to costly damage and limit the basement’s functionality. They wanted a dependable solution that would protect the basement in all weather conditions.
Solution
Fortress Foundation Solutions installed a complete basement waterproofing system to manage water at its source. A WaterGuard® sub-floor perimeter drainage system was installed beneath the basement floor to capture wall and floor seepage before it entered the living space. Collected water was directed into a TripleSafe™ sump pump system, providing reliable water removal even during heavy rainfall and power outages.
To address moisture and air quality concerns, a SaniDry™ Sedona dehumidifier was installed to control humidity levels, eliminate musty odors, and prevent mold growth. After installation, the basement remained dry and odor-free during subsequent storms, giving the homeowner confidence that their basement was permanently protected.
