Basement Waterproofing in Keyser, West Virginia
Challenge
A homeowner in Keyser contacted Fortress Foundation Solutions after repeated basement water intrusion during seasonal storms. Water entered through visible wall cracks and pooled near the foundation perimeter, damaging stored belongings and leaving behind damp, musty conditions.
An inspection revealed that shifting soil and poor exterior drainage allowed groundwater to accumulate around the foundation. As the soil became saturated, hydrostatic pressure forced water through cracks and cold joints in the concrete. The homeowner was concerned that continued moisture exposure could lead to structural damage and unhealthy indoor air conditions.
Solution
Fortress Foundation Solutions installed a customized basement waterproofing system to permanently address the issue. A WaterGuard® drainage system was installed along the interior perimeter to collect water before it reached the floor surface. The system directed water into a TripleSafe™ sump pump, providing continuous protection and backup pumping capacity.
A SaniDry™ Sedona dehumidifier was also installed to reduce humidity and improve overall air quality. After the project was completed, the basement remained dry even during heavy rainfall, giving the homeowner renewed confidence in the safety and stability of their home.
