Challenge
Another homeowner in Lynchburg contacted Fortress Foundation Solutions after noticing damp carpet and staining along the lower portion of their finished basement walls. After prolonged rain, moisture would appear along the perimeter, raising concerns about hidden mold and damage behind finished surfaces.
During our evaluation, we determined that hydrostatic pressure was forcing moisture through small cracks and the wall-floor joint. The finished basement layout made the issue more concerning, as water intrusion could damage drywall, flooring, and personal belongings. The homeowner wanted a solution that would protect their finished space without requiring extensive disruption.
Solution
Fortress Foundation Solutions designed a customized waterproofing solution to address the homeowner’s needs. A WaterGuard® drainage system was installed along the interior perimeter of the basement to capture incoming water before it reached the finished surfaces.
The system was connected to a TripleSafe™ sump pump, providing reliable water removal and backup protection. Additionally, a SaniDry™ Sedona Dehumidifier was installed to control humidity and maintain a healthy environment.
