Challenge
Mr. Stevenson, a homeowner in Galax, Virginia reached out to Fortress Foundation Solutions after noticing water seeping into his basement following periods of prolonged rain. The moisture appeared along the wall-floor joint and left staining on the concrete. Over time, the healso began to notice a musty smells.
Our inspection revealed that groundwater was building up around the foundation and creating "hydrostatic" pressure against the basement walls. This pressure forced water through small cracks and porous areas of the concrete. Without a drainage system in place, the water had no path for removal once it entered the basement.
Solution
We installed our WaterGuard® drainage system along the interior perimeter of the basement to capture water seepage before it could accumulate on the floor.
The system was connected to a TripleSafe™ sump pump to ensure reliable water removal during heavy rain events. Additionally, a SaniDry™ Sedona Dehumidifier was installed to maintain proper humidity levels and improve air quality within the basement.
