Challenge
Greg in Blacksburg contacted us at Fortress Foundation Solutions after discovering damp carpet and moisture along the edges of his finished basement. After heavy storms, water would seep in along the perimeter walls, raising concerns about hidden mold growth and potential damage to the finished space.
During our FREE inspection, we determined that "hydrostatic" pressure from saturated soil was forcing water through the wall-floor joint and small cracks in the foundation. The finished basement made the issue more urgent, as ongoing moisture exposure could damage drywall, flooring, and personal belongings.
Solution
We designed a customized waterproofing solution to protect the finished basement. Our team installed a WaterGuard® sub-floor drainage system along the interior perimeter to capture incoming water before it reached the living space.
The system was connected to a TripleSafe™ sump pump, ensuring dependable water removal and backup protection during severe weather. A SaniDry™ Sedona Dehumidifier was also installed to regulate humidity and maintain a dry, healthy environment for Greg and his family.
