Challenge
A homeowner in Ringgold contacted Fortress Foundation Solutions after experiencing recurring water intrusion in their basement during heavy rain. What started as minor damp spots along the walls had gradually turned into small puddles forming along the perimeter of the basement floor. The homeowner also noticed a musty odor that lingered even during dry periods.
During our inspection, we found that pressure from saturated soil surrounding the foundation was forcing groundwater through the wall-floor joint and small cracks in the concrete. Without a drainage system in place, water entering the basement had no way to get out.
Solution
Fortress Foundation Solutions recommended installing a complete interior waterproofing system. Our team installed a WaterGuard® sub-floor drainage system along the perimeter of the basement to capture incoming water before it reached the floor surface.
The system was connected to a TripleSafe™ sump pump to ensure reliable water removal, even during heavy storms or power outages. To further improve the environment, we installed a SaniDry™ Sedona Dehumidifier to control humidity levels and reduce moisture in the air.
