Basement Waterproofing in Luray, Virginia
Challenge
A homeowner in Luray reached out to Fortress Foundation Solutions after noticing water seepage along one section of their basement wall following extended periods of rain. The moisture left visible staining on the concrete and created a damp, musty smell throughout the space.
Our inspection revealed that groundwater buildup around the foundation was creating hydrostatic pressure against the basement walls. This pressure forced water through porous areas of the concrete and the cove joint. Without a drainage system to control the water, the basement remained vulnerable to ongoing moisture problems.
The homeowner wanted a reliable, permanent solution that would keep their basement dry year-round.
Solution
Fortress Foundation Solutions installed a WaterGuard® interior drainage system to intercept groundwater before it entered the basement space.
The water was directed to a TripleSafe™ sump pump system, which provides dependable pumping power and backup protection. Additionally, a SaniDry™ Sedona Dehumidifier was installed to regulate humidity levels and maintain a dry environment.
After installation, the basement in Luray remained consistently dry, even during heavy rainfall. The homeowner appreciated the long-term protection and improved usability of their basement.
