Challenge
A homeowner in Maurertown contacted Fortress Foundation Solutions after noticing water pooling in one corner of their basement during storms. Over time, the issue became more frequent, and dampness began to spread along the walls. The homeowner was concerned about potential mold growth and damage to belongings stored in the basement.
During our evaluation, we determined that hydrostatic pressure from moisture-laden soil was forcing water through small cracks and the wall-floor joint. The basement lacked a proper waterproofing system, allowing water to enter and accumulate during periods of heavy rain.
Solution
Fortress Foundation Solutions recommended a comprehensive waterproofing system to address the issue. Our team installed a WaterGuard® drainage system along the interior perimeter to capture water before it reached the basement floor.
The system was connected to a TripleSafe™ sump pump to ensure efficient water removal, even during severe weather conditions. To maintain a healthy environment, we also installed a SaniDry™ Sedona Dehumidifier to control humidity levels.
