Full Basement Waterproofing in Lynchburg, Virginia
Challenge
Allen in Lynchburg had always used his basement as extra storage space, so when he first noticed a little dampness along the walls, he didn’t think much of it. It was easy to dismiss—just something that happened after a heavy rain.
The damp spots turned into visible water intrusion after storms, and eventually, small puddles started forming along the perimeter of the basement floor. Cardboard boxes had to be moved, and a few stored items were already showing signs of moisture damage. On top of that, a musty smell began to linger and slowly spread to the main level of the home.
Allen realized this wasn’t just a minor inconvenience anymore—it was something that needed to be fixed the right way.
When we came out to inspect the basement, we found that hydrostatic pressure from saturated soil around the foundation was forcing water in through the wall-floor joint. Without a proper drainage system, that water had nowhere to go once it entered, which is why it was pooling along the edges.
Solution
We designed a waterproofing system to take control of the water before it ever reached the surface.
Our team installed a WaterGuard® drainage system along the entire interior perimeter of the basement. This system sits just below the floor and is designed to capture water as it enters and redirect it safely away.
We connected the system to a TripleSafe™ sump pump, giving Allen reliable protection even during heavy storms or power outages. To address the lingering humidity and musty smell, we also installed a SaniDry™ Sedona Dehumidifier to keep the air dry and healthy.
