Waterproofing and Wall Support Project in Huddleston, Virginia
Challenge
By the time Michael in Huddleston, Virginia reached out to us, his basement had developed more than just a moisture problem. Water intrusion had been happening for long enough that the pressure from the saturated soil outside the home was starting to affect the foundation walls themselves.
Several walls had begun bowing inward, and horizontal and stairstep cracks were becoming more noticeable throughout the basement. It was clear the space needed both waterproofing and structural repairs to properly solve the problem.
Solution
To keep water out, we installed the WaterGuard® drainage system around the perimeter of the basement to capture water before it could spread across the floor. A TripleSafe™ sump pump was added to remove water efficiently, and CleanSpace® Wall was installed to create a clean moisture barrier and help direct water into the drainage system.
Once the water issues were under control, the team focused on stabilizing the damaged foundation wall. To reinforce the structure and stop further movement, 11 PowerBrace® support beams were installed along the affected wall.
By the end of the project, the basement had been completely transformed. What was once a damp, structurally concerning space is now dry, stable, and protected for the long term. Michael now has peace of mind knowing both the water and foundation problems were fixed the right way.
