This process involved setting galvanized steel columns on a robust 12-inch steel base, ensuring a secure connection to the existing girders. The adjustable nature of the heavy-duty threaded rods employed by the SmartJack® system ensured flexibility in addressing Mr. Lane’s unique structural conditions.

After completion, the outcome was clear: Mr. Lane's floors returned to an even plane, with a marked reduction in bounce. Caleb performed his inspection and concluded that the cause of the sagging floors was due to high humidity in the crawl space below. Humid air had weakened the joists and caused them to sag over time. We ended up installing 4 our of SmartJacks and a supplemental beam to stabilize the floors from below, preventing any further movement and allowing for lift in the future.
