An Oilville, VA homeowner reached out to Fortress Foundation Solutions after discovering standing water and moisture beginning to damage their wooden floor joists. Moisture-saturated insulation was also falling down in the crawl space. How could this be happening? Plastic sheeting covered the ground. Isn't that protection enough? Most people don't think about the effects moisture has as it rises from the ground under their homes. If left untreated, the moisture can cause thousands of dollars' worth of damage over time. Our System Designers help educate customers on protecting their home by providing printed materials, using video media, through conversation, and of course, providing a free estimate for repair. This crawl space needed EZ Flow drainage, a Smart Sump Sump Pump, CleanSpace Vapor Barrier, and a SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier. EZ Flow directs groundwater to the Smart Sump, which pumps the water outside the home. The CleanSpace Vapor Barrier seals off the home from the damp/wet ground below. The SaniDry Sedona removes excess moisture, keeping the area dry and protecting the wood. A home is anyone's biggest asset. Why not protect it with a custom solution from Fortress Foundation Solutions?"
This customer called Fortress Foundation Solutions to get a FREE inspection on their crawl space. They had started to notice sagging in their floors above and were concerned with the stability of their home. We sent Danny, one of our expert System Designers out to take a look and come up with a plan. After reviewing our findings with the customer, we went forward and installed our CleanSpace Vapor Barrier System to fully encapsulate the crawl space. We also installed two of our SmartJacks to the main beam, ensuring permanent support of the floors above.
Fortress Foundation Solutions installed a CleanSpace Encapsulation, FoamMax Insulation, a SaniDry Dehumidifier, and a TripleSafe Sump Pump System with an external discharge.
Stephen K. had taken a look in his crawl space to see about some repairs. What he saw shocked him - mold and mildew on the woodwork, bugs and spider webs, falling down, moisture-saturated insulation, and stinky, musty smells. He called Fortress Foundation Solutions for a free estimate. A System Designer met with Stephen, inspected his crawl space and provided a free estimate for an encapsulation. Soon a Fortress crew was onsite installing drainage matting, SilverGlo insulation, CleanSpace vapor barrier, and a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier. The CleanSpace is in place to seal the home from the damp earth. Moisture and its damaging effects on the wood structure of the home are kept out. The SilverGlo is installed on the walls and insulates to keep the home warm in winter and cool in the summer. It is moisture resistant and won't get moldy or break down. The final step is the SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier. It removes moisture from the air keeping the crawl space dry. When Stephen looks into his crawl space now, it is clean, dry and he knows his home is protected!
