Job Stories From Forest, VA
Concrete Repair in Forest, Virginia

In Forest, a homeowner faced a difficult situation with their sinking concrete driveway. This not only impacted the appearance of their property but also posed a potential safety hazard. The homeowner contacted us at Fortress Foundation Solutions after noticing uneven surfaces that detracted from the otherwise well-kept exterior of their home. They sought a reliable solution to raise and level concrete, ensuring their property remained both functional and secure.

Upon reaching out, our experienced Customer Care Specialist promptly scheduled a home inspection. Our System Design Specialist then visited the residence, thoroughly assessing the situation. They identified the uneven concrete slab's root cause—a void beneath the slab allowing the concrete to sink. After the detailed inspection, we recommended our proven PolyLevel® system to remedy the issue.

Our skilled production team executed the project with precision. The foreman and installers began the process by carefully drilling pea-sized holes into the affected slabs to prepare for the PolyLevel® injection. With careful attention to detail, we injected the polyurethane foam, allowing it to expand and fill voids, raising the concrete slab to its original position. This minimally invasive, yet effective, approach ensured stability without disturbing the surrounding area.

The outcome for the homeowner was both immediate and impressive. The concrete driveway was restored to a level surface, significantly improving curb appeal and removing any potential tripping hazards. By completing this concrete repair with minimal disruption, we reaffirmed our commitment to providing a remarkable customer experience and delivering reliable, long-lasting solutions to homeowners like those in Forest seeking to protect their most valuable asset.

Crawl Space Encapsulation in Forest, Virginia

A recent project in Forest presented us with a challenging and common homeowner concern: an excessively damp and unhealthy crawl space. This particular crawl space was suffering from high humidity and glaring temperature inconsistencies, contributing to mold growth, wood rot, and energy inefficiencies that, together, had the potential to escalate into more serious structural problems down the line.

Our process began with the homeowner contacting our Customer Care Specialist to schedule an inspection. One of our System Design Specialists conducted a comprehensive assessment, identifying excessive moisture as a leading concern. The homeowner entrusted us to provide a lasting and reliable solution, and so was recommended our industry-leading encapsulation and repair products: CleanSpace, SilverGlo, and the SaniDry Sedona dehumidification system.

Our production team took action by first preparing and sealing the crawl space with our CleanSpace system, creating an impenetrable moisture barrier impermeable to mold and moisture intrusion. Each detail was monitored closely to ensure efficiency and precision. Following encapsulation, SilverGlo wall insulation was applied. Thanks to its innovative graphite-impregnated design, SilverGlo increased energy efficiency while maintaining an R-11 insulation standard that blocks potential moisture invasion.

Finally, we installed the SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier within the crawl space environment. Recognized for its compact yet robust performance, the Sedona system ensures a stable low humidity level, preventing mold reoccurrence and ensuring breathable healthy air throughout the home.

After our work was completed, the difference was visible. The home's foundation was not only safeguarded against future damage but transformed into a usable, energy-efficient crawl space. The homeowner was left with peace of mind, gaining assurance of both structural integrity and long-lasting home comfort. Through adhering to our mission, Fortress Foundation Solutions delivered enhancement proven both now and for years to come, in the most efficient and experienced manneratiu.

Crawl Space Encapsulation in Forest, Virginia

A homeowner in Forest contacted Fortress Foundation Solutions about persistent moisture issues in their crawl space. The excess moisture had resulted in musty odors, elevated humidity levels, and signs of mold that were beginning to impact the air quality throughout their home. Understanding the urgency of their situation, our Customer Care Specialist promptly scheduled a home inspection.

Upon inspection, our System Design Specialist thoroughly assessed the crawl space. It became apparent that the combination of open vents and inadequate sealing allowed humidity to accumulate, creating an environment conducive to moisture-related issues. After a comprehensive evaluation, the specialist recommended our suite of solutions tailored to rectify the situation and prevent future problems.

Our production team then set to work, starting with the installation of the CleanSpace® crawl space encapsulation system. This high-quality liner transformed the crawl space into a clean, dry environment by forming a resistant barrier against moisture ingress. To further enhance the system’s efficiency, SilverGlo™ wall insulation was integrated, ensuring robust thermal performance and minimizing moisture penetration.

Additionally, we installed the SaniDry™ Sedona dehumidifier to maintain optimal humidity levels and eliminate musty odors throughout the crawl space and the home. Finally, for reliable water management, the TripleSafe™ sump pump system was installed, offering the homeowner invaluable peace of mind during periods of heavy rain.

By implementing this comprehensive solution, the crawl space was effectively protected against future moisture concerns. The homeowner now enjoys improved air quality and a structurally sound crawl space, fulfilling our mission of delivering a significant, longstanding improvement in quality of life.

Widow in Forest, VA, Now Has a Dry Basement

Nancy G. of Forest, VA, was recently widowed. She noticed mold growth in her basement, became concerned and reached out to Fortress Foundation Solutions. While meeting with Troy King, system designer, she explained that her children would be involved in the decision as they wanted to protect her from being taken advantage of. Troy let her know he would be happy to communicate with them as well! This set Nancy's mind at ease. After reviewing the options, Nancy decided to install a Sanidry Sedona dehumidifier system. Warren Dickerson was the foreman helping to get this basement dry. The Sanidry Sedona has the ability to filter dust and mildew particles down to 3 microns in size with its Merv 8 filter. The high-powered fan keeps up to 2500 square feet dry, reducing the growth of mold and mildew. Now Nancy and her children can rest easy knowing she is in a healthier home!

Basement Waterproofing - Forest,VA

This homeowner in Forest, VA called Fortress with concerns about a water coming into the basement. This water coming in also caused an unpleasant musty smell. Our System Designer,  was able to go out to the home and give these homeowners a piece of mind with a permanent solution. The best way to fix this issue was installing our WaterGuard system, along with our Triplesafe sump pump.

Our Foreman, and his crew went out to the home and began to install these products. The crew began preparing the perimeter of the basement for the WaterGuard. Once the WaterGuard is in place, the crew then installed the Triplesafe sump pump. An outside discharge is also installed on the sump pump to allow the water to be pumped out of the basement.

We also followed in with drainage stone over top of the WaterGuard. This crushed stone allows the water to easily flow to the WaterGuard, and then to the sump pump. Once the system and the stone are laid, new cement is laid over the system to give it a finished look. The end result was a dry basement that would last years to come
