Dianne noticed after some recent heavy rain that water was making it's way into her basement. She had confidence that her old sump pump would be able to handle the water but unfortunately, it could not. Concerned about this, she reached out to Fortress Foundation Solutions to see if we could help. After having an appointment with one of our system designers, Dianne went forward with having a new, full perimeter waterproofing system installed in her basement. We utilized our WaterGuard Drainage system for this project, which feeds into a new TripleSafe Sump Pump and is discharged out of the house. Dianne is very happy that she got this worked completed and that her basement will be dry for years to come!
The crawl space in this Powhatan, Virginia home had clear signs of moisture and high humidity in the before photo. Left alone, those conditions can lead to mold, wood rot, and higher energy bills.
We fixed the issue by sealing the space with our CleanSpace Vapor Barrier Encapsulation System to keep moisture out. SilverGlo insulation was added to improve energy efficiency, and a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier now keeps humidity at a consistent, healthy level.
With these upgrades in place, the crawl space is dry, more efficient, and better for the overall health of the home.
We love seeing clean, dry crawl spaces! This particular homeowner, whose crawl space was already encapsulated, noticed a musty smell coming from his crawl space, and when our System Designer, Paul Heckman, went down there, he found that water was seeping into the crawl space through the insulated walls, and designed a solution. Our Foreman, Charlie Evans, and his crew went in and removed some of the old insulation, and replaced it with our own SilverGlo Insulation. They lined the crawl space with our CleanSpace Vapor Barrier, and installed one of our SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier to ensure that our client's home stays clean and dry! No more musty smells for this homeowner!
In Mineral, Simon wanted to address moisture concerns in his 1,200-square-foot crawl space before they began affecting the rest of the home. The area was exposed to excess humidity and lacked proper insulation, creating unstable conditions beneath the house and increasing the risk of future moisture-related problems.
Scott and his crew installed a complete CleanSpace® vapor barrier system throughout the crawl space to seal out ground moisture and create a cleaner, more controlled environment beneath the home. To further improve the space, SilverGlo™ insulation was added along the crawl space walls to help regulate temperatures and increase the home’s overall energy efficiency.
As shown in the after photo, the crawl space is now cleaner, drier, and far better protected from future moisture issues. Simon can now enjoy greater peace of mind knowing the area beneath his home is properly sealed, insulated, and built for long-term protection.
As seen in the before photo, this local homeowner in Hagerstown, Maryland started noticing cracks forming in the cinderblock retaining wall that leads to the stairwell entryway of the basement apartment he rents out. Over time, the cracks worsened and the wall began to look like it was caving in.
Brian spent a good chunk of time contemplating whether to call us, but once his tenants started bringing the issue to his attention, he knew it was time to act. He reached out online to schedule a free evaluation of the wall.
We sent one of our expert system designers out to inspect the issue, and he immediately knew what needed to be done — a Geo-Lock Wall Anchor system. Geo-Lock Wall Anchors use the strength of the stable virgin soil beyond the wall to permanently stabilize it and, in some cases, even pull the wall back toward its original position.
As seen in the after photo, this project took just one day to complete and required two Geo-Lock Wall Anchors to secure the wall. Now Brian and his tenants have peace of mind knowing the stairwell has been permanently stabilized.
