This homeowner was concerned about moisture in her crawl space and reached out to Fortress Foundation Solutions for help. One of our expert System Designers conducted a thorough inspection and provided a detailed estimate. Shortly after, our skilled crew arrived to our CleanSpace® Vapor Barrier on the floors and walls. The homeowner was thrilled with her clean, dry, and protected crawl space!
This home owner called our Fortress Team needing extra support in their crawl space. This home was a rental property of theirs and they wanted it taken care of correctly! Our System Designer Dave created the solution to install eight of our Smart Jack Support Beam Systems to create the floor support needed. Dave also installed our Clean Space Vapor Barrier System to ensure the crawl space would remain dry. This gave the home owners the peace of mind they needed to rent this home out!
A homeowner in Potomac, MD had a waterproofing system installed by Fortress Foundation Solutions several years ago. At the time, they declined our recommended sump pump upgrade. However, after experiencing a power outage, their existing sump pump failed to operate - exactly the concern our System Designer had discussed during the original proposal.
While the waterproofing system continued to perform as intended, the failed sump pump left the basement vulnerable when it was needed most.
The homeowner called Fortress back out and decided to move forward with our recommended TripleSafe™ sump pump system. As shown in the after photo, we installed a TripleSafe™ system complete with battery backup protection.
Now, this basement is protected by a complete Fortress waterproofing system designed to keep it dry all the time - even during power outages.
As noticed in the before photo, Ms. Kline was experiencing water puddling on her basement floor. Upon further investigation, she found a foundation crack and knew after seeing our yard signs in the area to call us at Fortress. We sent out our system designer, Richard, and he did a thorough investigation. He found that this water intrusion wasn’t caused by groundwater intrusion. It was an expansion crack that had made its way through one side of the foundation to the other and was allowing rainwater runoff to enter the crack.
Donny was our service technician on call who came out and assessed Ms. Kline’s foundation crack. As seen in the after photo, he ground the wall down to expose the crack better. He jackhammered a small section of the floor directly below the crack to get to the wall-floor joint. He installed a tiny piece of our WaterGuard system there, then epoxied the crack with a flexible, caulk-like substance that will seal the crack, stay connected to all of the little pores in the concrete wall, and move with it. He then finished FlexiSpanning the crack and tied everything into the WaterGuard system, which will allow the water to escape properly back into the ground.
