In Castleton, VA, we tackled a homeowner's challenge with a severely deflected wall. The bowing wall is clearly visible in the photo. They called Fortress Foundation Solutions to request a free consultation. System Designer Danny Camunas went out to perform an inspection. In his free estimate, he recommended our CarbonArmor Wall Reinforcing System. This state-of-the-art solution for bowing and cracking foundation walls incorporates the same technology the Army Corps of Engineers uses to reinforce bomb shelters, skyscrapers and bridges. The CarbonArmor System includes flexible carbon fiber straps that are up to 10 times stronger in tension than steel. Using high strength epoxy, the straps are bonded to the interior face of the basement wall. This system installs quickly inside, requires no outside excavation and won't impact future basement finishing. Now this homeowner can feel secure knowing their basement walls will not bow any more!
This homeowner on near Flint Hill, VA, reached out to Fortress Foundation Solutions when the water entering her basement became increasingly problematic. The corners were very moldy and the mold was growing. System Designer Caleb Stone met with her, explained the solution Fortress could provide, and offered her a free estimate. Eager to reclaim the use of her basement, she agreed. Shortly after, Clarence Copeland (Cope) and his crew were on-site installing a WaterGuard drainage system, Triple Safe Sump Pump, and a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier. Now, any water entering the home is drained to the Triple Safe and pumped out. The SaniDry dehumidifier maintains low moisture levels in the basement, reducing the risk of mildew and eliminating musty odors. After evaluating this home, our System Designer determined that the best waterproofing solution for this home would be to install WaterGuard along the perimeter basement walls and a TripleSafe Sump Pump System. These products will work together to keep this basement dry by catching any water seepage before it ever reaches the basement floor, and channeling that water to the TripleSafe where it will be pumped out of the home through an exterior discharge line. We also installed a CleanSpace Vapor Barrier on the walls behind the pipes for added security. This homeowner will never have to worry about their basement getting wet again!
